This publication has proved to be an extremely popular and widely read addition in the library, especially with our boys.

Thursday's Student Librarians on duty


Pictured here are Student Librarians, Faith and Terrin, who had a busy shift manning the front desk during lunch time today.

Along with returning and issuing books they helped fellow students search for titles using the OPAC, locate books on the shelves, log in juniors on the computers, re-shelve books and tidy up.

Terrin also made up his own  badge to add to the official lanyard that Student Librarians wear.

Book Club members meet Mr Mr Sunny

New on the literary scene is young New Zealand Author, Lucas Chisholm. Lucas has distributed copies of his book "Meet Mr Mr Sunny", to all 1,925 primary schools across the country.

Awapuni School Book Club members today wrote thank you letters to Lucas, giving positive feedback, as requested, to help shape future publications.

claims the prestigious award of being judged NZ Post Margaret Mahy Book of the Year

Seth from Room 2  emulates the cover illustration, showing that even a "boring book" is a good one!

THE BEGINNERS GUIDE TO HUNTING AND FISHING IN NEW ZEALAND by Paul Adamson 

was judged the best Non-Fiction title

A fabulously informative book aimed at educating all types of would-be hunters within a New Zealand setting.
From hunting deer, to pigs, ducks or possums, through to eeling and whitebaiting, this instructional manual provides a wealth of interesting and helpful facts.

This title can be found in our library in the Non-fiction section under 799.2




DUNGER by JOY COWLEY takes home the Junior Fiction Prize

A holiday with your grandparents? How exciting could that be?! With no electricity, no cellphone reception and just each other for company, this holiday may well be called a dunger, like an old car...the car that William gets to drive at just 11 years old...maybe this holiday isn't so bad after all.
